FROM JEMBER PRIDE TO THE WORLD STAGE
JKCI Festival 2026 embraces the theme “From Jember Pride to the World Stage” as a reflection of Jember’s strategic journey in elevating its local tobacco heritage to global recognition.
For more than a century, Jember has been recognized as one of Indonesia’s key tobacco-producing regions, contributing high-quality leaves to the international cigar industry. This legacy represents not only regional pride, but also a valuable national asset with significant cultural and economic potential.
Through this festival, JKCI serves as an integrated platform that brings together culture, industry, and tourism into a structured ecosystem. The festival goes beyond showcasing products it builds narratives, strengthens identity, and opens opportunities for collaboration with global communities and industry stakeholders.
This theme underscores a strong commitment to positioning Jember as the cigar capital of Indonesia with the capability to compete on the international stage, while expanding economic impact and reinforcing Indonesia’s presence within the global cigar industry.

WATU ULO BEACH
Pantai Watu Ulo is one of Jember’s most iconic coastal destinations, located in Sumberejo Village, Ambulu District, approximately 40 kilometers south of Jember city center, East Java. Facing the vast Indian Ocean, this beach offers a dramatic southern coastline atmosphere, where black sand, powerful waves, and surrounding rock formations create a distinctive and exotic landscape.
The name Watu Ulo, which means “Snake Stone” in Javanese, comes from a long natural rock formation stretching from the shoreline toward the sea. Its shape resembles the back or scales of a giant snake, making it the most recognizable feature of the beach. Beyond its natural beauty, Watu Ulo is also closely connected to local myths and folklore, with stories describing the rock as part of a legendary giant snake.
With its combination of coastal scenery, cultural legend, and local hospitality, Pantai Watu Ulo offers more than a beach experience. It presents a memorable setting where nature, folklore, and Jember’s local identity come together. Visitors can also enjoy fresh seafood from local food stalls along the beach, adding a warm and authentic touch to the coastal journey.
